This question comes from Nellie Moore on the Unknown Country message board:

"I've also wrestled with the idea/concept that there is power in thought and words and who is to say what you create when you put something out there. Do we give an idea--a probability
--more power to become reality by putting out there to the group collective? Does it become more real, more probable--when we reach a certain amount of people viewing the same idea? Group consciousness creates? Know what I mean? It's that chicken or egg thing. Which comes first? The event or the vision of the event? And does it matter if the event is "seen" by one person and it then takes place--like deja vu--or the event is "seen" by one person and then is shared with a group and it takes place?"

Oh how I have pondered this paradox! However, there have been many times, particularly in the early years, when I simply had a feeling that something "good" or "bad" would happen and could not place any THOUGHT behind it as to what it was. There were times I dreamt of personal things that I told no one and they manifested in elaborate reality... and I knew what would happen next so then I appeared to be a maniac trying to help the family member/friend or even stranger to not do what they were about to do, usually with no luck and the scenario happens. In those cases, I am the only person with the thought that came through in a dream/sub-conscious state.

Yes, I firmly believe in a cumulative consciousness effect. BUT... sometimes that effect is needed. Think about it. We are seriously over-populated as a species. We are destroying the planet. Our cumulative mind knows this and our "higher selves" (for lack of better words) know what is the best thing and probably the ONLY thing that can save the planet. Our "lower selves" think how horrible it is and how we should try to stop it...but should we and CAN WE ? Can you make everyone stop breeding ? Can you make them boycott oil and use solar ? NO, you can't. Can you really ask someone to let their close relative die because you want to shut down the nuclear power plant that is keeping their kin alive on life support ? HE** NO. You can't do that.

There is a winding spiral of endless scenarios at personal/societal/personal/societal ad infinitum that cannot be reconciled. The only way our minds can handle the solution to the planet's problems is if it is an event that comes from OUTSIDE of us as a species. The sub-conscious cumulative may help to create these scenarios in reality. This would be in conjunction with the base physical reality of geo/planetary physics. I believe that BOTH are intertwined irrevocably in a matrix that compels the fabric of our universe.

In personal life if as children we become trapped in a situation that is out of our control, who do we call out to for help ? "Mommy ". In a cumulative consciousness, the same cry would be heard and it would be directed to whom ?  The MOTHER...planet Earth. I think we know at this point the few of us who even want to do anything consciously about it, can't. So the cumulative sub-conscious cry goes out to our parent. That being said, then we bring it back to the personal level again. We don't need or want the species to die off completely, and of course, we want to live. So, you have to throw your predictions...dreams, instincts, visions...out there and then apply logic to the impending scenario and try your hardest to LIVE. I figure I either will or I won't, but either way, what needed to be done was done. I guess that is easier for me to say than most due to myriads of "paranormal" experiences I have had AND observation of nature itself, that tells me...there is no death. Death is not something that I compute. Many see me as being very callous for this...but they don't understand that I am as close to the person who has crossed over as I ever was while they were incarnate because I see us ALL as ONE SPIRIT. This epoch of encrustation in which we currently dwell is such an immeasurably small portion of the entirety of LIFE, that I know I have not lost anyone to this facade called death. Yes, there can be emotional pain from the illusion of time and physical separation...but in the end, what has needed to occur, does occur. Would you run out in front of a train to push your Mother out of harm's way ? That is what our cumulative consciousness is doing in my opinion.
